Vacancy: Technical Writer (Eyefreight) – Bunnik, Utrecht
Function
As a Technical Writer at Eyefreight you will be creating and maintaining product documentation. In this role you will be responsible for writing all product documentation, including: user-, service-, installation- and technical manuals for a wide range of audiences. Your activities will consist of:
- Determining the needs of end users of technical documentation
- Studying demo products and talking with product designers and developers
- Writing product documentation (specifications, user manuals, training material, etc.)
- Using different media (photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, charts, etc.) that increase users’ understanding
- Selecting the appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos
- Standardizing content across platforms and media
- Revising documents as new issues arise
- Administering and maintaining Confluence (Wiki engine)

Our client, Eyefreight, is a young, fast-growing logistics software company with large multinational customers including Heineken, Levi’s, Campari, Mango Tata and FloraHolland. Eyefreight offers an innovative, web-based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) transportation spend management (TSM) application that registers and monitors the entire logistics lifecycle – from inventory allocation and distribution planning to invoice settlement.
As Technical Writer you will be part of the Product Development team, based in Bunnik at the global headquarters of Eyefreight (Utrecht area, the Netherlands). This role requires the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with developers, the client support team, product managers and management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Technical Writer position will meet the following job requirements:
- Native English speaker
- Excellent written, verbal and technical communication skills
- Experience in documenting processes and procedures
- Knowledge and experience in working with computer software
- Understanding of the software development life cycle
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Administrative knowledge of and experience with Wiki engines, preferably with Confluence
- Must be a self-starter who works equally well independently and in a team environment
